Check your freight invoices against your own contract

The Freight Audit Sheet is a free Google Sheet that compares each invoice line to the rate you negotiated and tells you, in a sentence you can paste to the carrier, where you were overbilled. It also shows how your routing guide is really performing.

Free for 60 days. One free license per company domain.

What it checks

Truckload invoices

Linehaul, fuel and accessorials, line by line against your contract rates, mileage and fuel schedules. Duplicate invoices and charges your terms do not allow are caught too.

Ocean invoices

Per-container charges checked against your ocean contract, with the same plain-language reason on every line.

Routing guide health

Paste your tender history and see which carriers are accepting loads, how deep into the guide your freight falls, and which loads fall outside the guide altogether.

How it works

  1. 01

    Request your license key

Fill in the form below. Your license key, or a note about your company's existing license, arrives by email.

  2. 02

    Copy the Sheet

Open the link in the email and make your own copy in Google Sheets.

  3. 03

    Paste your data

Add your contract rates and export your invoice lines from your TMS or freight-pay provider.

  4. 04

    Read the findings

Every line gets a status and a one-sentence reason. Anything the Sheet cannot be sure of says Needs review, never Over.

Common questions

What does the Sheet check?
Truckload and ocean invoice lines against your own contract: linehaul, fuel and accessorial charges, duplicates and charges your terms do not allow. It also reviews routing guide health from your tender history. Detention, demurrage, per diem and storage are not audited in this version.
Do I need a Google account?
You need one to copy the Sheet into your own Google Drive. A personal Google account works fine.
When do the 60 days start?
On your first audit or routing guide run, not when you sign up. Runs on the built-in sample data do not start the clock.
What is sent, and is it stored?
Each run sends the invoice, tender and contract rows to our service, which checks them and returns the results. The rows are used for that one request and then discarded. We never store lanes, carriers, invoice numbers or per-line amounts. From each run we keep only the totals: the kind of run, how many lines, the dollars billed, expected and over contract, a count per status and how long it took. For the license itself we keep your name, work email, company and role, and when you accepted the terms.
Can anyone with a company email sign up?
Any corporate email address can request a license, including those of third-party logistics providers, brokers and freight auditors. Personal email addresses are not accepted. We give one free license per company domain. If a colleague at your company already has it, we tell you by email, and you can ask them for a copy of the Sheet or contact D & C Principle to talk about a full audit.
What happens after 60 days?
The Sheet stops running and says so in the cell. If you want to keep going, or want help acting on what it found, reach out and we will talk it through.
