BridgeBypass privacy policy

This explains what the BridgeBypass iPhone app ("BridgeBypass", "we") collects, who it is shared with, and what is kept. BridgeBypass plans driving routes that avoid tall bridges and other roads you choose.

Version and effective date: 2026-10-23

The short version

There is no account. We show no ads, do not track you across other apps or websites, and do not sell your data.

Your settings, recent and saved places, and bridge lists stay on your iPhone.

To plan a route, the app sends your starting point, your destination and your avoid settings to our routing service. We use them to plan that route and do not store them.

Your location and your routes

BridgeBypass uses your location while you use it, to plan routes and give turn-by-turn directions. During a drive it keeps using your location with the screen off or another app open, so directions continue. It does not use your location when you are not planning or driving.

When you plan a route, the app sends our routing service your starting point, your destination, and your avoid settings: the kinds of roads to avoid, the bridges you are fine with, and the bridges you added. The service plans the route, sends it back, and does not store your trip or your location. Our servers keep error logs that do not include your trip.

The routing service runs on Microsoft Azure in the United States. We may also use Stadia Maps to calculate routes; when we do, the same starting point, destination and avoid settings go to Stadia Maps under its privacy policy.

Maps and place search

Map images load from Stadia Maps, which receives your device's IP address and the map area on screen, under its privacy policy.

Place search uses Apple's MapKit: what you type in the search box goes to Apple under Apple's privacy policy.

Subscriptions

You subscribe through Apple. We never see your name, Apple ID or payment details.

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. The app creates a random, anonymous ID, and RevenueCat receives that ID, your purchase history, and basic device details such as the iPhone model, iOS version and country or region, under its privacy policy.

When you plan a route, our routing service sends that anonymous ID to RevenueCat to check that your plan is active, and remembers the answer in memory for up to 24 hours.

On your iPhone

Your avoid settings, recent and saved places, and the bridges you are fine with or added are stored only on your iPhone. Deleting the app deletes them.

Using BridgeBypass on a CarPlay screen sends no additional data.

Children

BridgeBypass is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date.
